Eating lots of vegetables helps prevent asthma
According to a recent study by researchers at the University of Nottingham (UK), eating a lot of vegetables and fruits will help prevent asthma.
By examining the effect of diet on asthma, researchers found that people who did not "load" enough vitamins A and C at daily meals had a higher risk of asthma.
The analysis showed that asthmatic patients often only "loaded" vitamin A by 1/3 or 1/4 of the amount needed for the body. People with severe asthma have very low levels of vitamin A in their bodies. Research does not show a link between asthma and vitamin E.
Vitamin A is found in dark green and yellow vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, carrots, sweet potatoes . These vitamins are also found in other foods like liver, milk, butter, cheese and egg.
Vitamin C is also found in the above vegetables and in fruits such as oranges, lemons, pineapples and strawberries.
Researchers recommend that children eat lots of vegetables and fruits and supplement their liver to prevent the risk of children with asthma./.
