In addition to receiving a series of important events: becoming a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), successfully organizing the 14th APEC Conference, the US adopted the Permanent Normal Trade Regulation PNTR for Vietnam, e-government (e-government) also has the opportunity to grow stronger than ever. However, in order to successfully develop e-government, we still have a series of big questions awaiting the answer.
On 12/13 in Hanoi, IDG Vietnam International Data Group cooperated with Hanoi Department of Post and Telecommunications to open the annual event of the 4th Vietnam E-Government Conference under the patronage. by Ministry of Posts and Telematics and Hanoi City People's Committee.

Preliminary assessment of the development of e-government in Vietnam, the Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Post and Telematics Vu Duc Dam said that in the past, we have done many things to develop e-government. But there are many questions that this Seminar must find the answer: Are we deeply determined to build e-Government? Have those resolutions been turned into concrete implementation projects? Do we have an overall model that fits the real situation of Vietnam and the world? Who is responsible for building e-government in Vietnam?, . to solve these problems, the workshop will be a move to motivate the development of Vietnam's IT in 2007 and will push the network of IT applications. into administration of government agencies.
Regarding the construction of e-government in Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hai from the Center for e-Government Research, Wesada University, Japan said: ' In Vietnam, the tendency to build e-government often tends to be from planners. policy is down, so there is a lack of feasibility and sustainability. To make strategic planning more effective, the government needs to have sufficient information about citizens, the ultimate goal of building e-government. Economic viability, telecommunications infrastructure readiness, reluctance and time constraints are difficulties preventing people from using the Internet. For the group of people using, education level, age, experience in using ICT, IT-telecom qualification and social, financial and time skills as well as the availability of services E-Government is an important factor affecting the exploitation of ICT applications in general and e-Government in particular '.
Also according to Ms. Hai, on the research results, the activities of building e-government should be directed towards ICT users. In many solutions, the expansion and coordination of e-government information channels, especially local governments, Internet shops and commune cultural post offices, are solutions to bring government services to people. unused.
With the enthusiasm of developing e-government in Vietnam, many reports of practical value of domestic and foreign speakers were presented at the workshop.
