Egypt finds the coffin master containing skulls and 500 gold leaves

The Egyptian Antiquities Department conducted a new study to uncover the mystery of the coffin found 110 years ago in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor.

According to RT, 500 gold leaves and a skull in the museum's storage in Cairo will become the focus of the study.

The coffin has long been a subject of controversy among Egyptologists. Many opinions suggest that the grave once contained the body of King Akhenaten, who ruled Egypt in 1350 BC. He was the father of the most famous pharaoh in Egyptian history, King Tutankhamun.

A handwritten note in France in 1906 identified the coffin as belonging to an unidentified royal member. Meanwhile, research conducted last year concluded that gold leafs were definitely in the coffin in the burial zone of KV55.

Edward Ayrton, an archaeologist from England, discovered the grave of KV55 near the tomb of King Tutankhamun and Ramesses IX. However, the identity of the grave owner has never been confirmed. The coffin in the grave is in the Egyptian Museum gallery in Cairo.

According to the Egyptian Antiquities Ministry, an Egyptian team of archaeologists and restoration workers will work together to find the owner of the coffin and the grave of KV55, with funding from the American Research Center (ARCE).

"The research team is working to date the coffin through similarities between the coffin parts and the inscription section , " said the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities.
