Elephants go like four-wheelers

With four legs doing the same task and using equal force, elephants are considered to be the most unique species in the animal world. Scientists liken the statue's four limbs to act like four-wheeled cars.

Before that, we assume that all 4-legged animals move mainly with their hind legs. That means the hind legs play a role of "speeding up" the body while the front legs hold the task of "braking". However, the study of the University of Royal Veterinary (UK) on the movement of elephants is completely different.

In the study, six Asian elephants were riding at different speeds on the podium lining capable of sensing force. Experts found that all four limbs of the elephant were used for speeding and speeding down. This unique function makes the operation of elephant legs similar to cars. Not only that, the researchers also found that when moving quickly, the legs of the elephant bounced slightly, making them run slower than other 4-legged species.
