Picture 1 of Europeans are getting higher and higher
Until the 1970s, Americans were considered to be leading the world. But then their growth slowed, while the height of the Europeans skyrocketed. Today, the Dutch are 6cm taller than the Americans, which is the opposite of 100 years ago.

Researchers explain that European health and social insurance systems are very costly for governments but create a healthy environment for the growth (in height) of residents. . The diet of Americans as well as the poverty of part of the population may also be the cause of the phenomenon.

Another demographic finding: Based on data provided by the United Nations, researchers at the University of North Carolina have concluded that the majority of the world's residents will become urban people. By 2010, 51.3% of the world's population will live in urban areas.
