Scientists believe this may be the statue of Queen Ankhnespepy II , one of the most famous Emperors of the sixth dynasty in ancient Egypt.
The half-timbered statue is said to have been unearthed by the Queen Ankhnespepy II at Saqqara.
Under the management of Professor Philippe Collombert of the University of Geneva, this archaeological group is conducting excavations in an ancient graveyard called Saqqara , located south of Cairo. Decorated with earrings, this head statue has a ratio of almost real. The statue is 30 cm tall, including the neck which is in poor condition and needs to be restored.
The sixth dynasty (from 2350 to 2150 BC) was the last dynasty of the ancient Egyptian empire. Ankhnespepy II Queen is the wife of King Pepy the First and the First King Merenre, and the regent in the years of her son, the king of Pepy II is still young.
The temple of Queen Ankhnespepy II is a smaller area and built after the King's temple. Located at the southwestern end of the ancient graveyard of Saqqâra, the Queen Ankhnespepy II temple is located in the area for the Empress and Royal members.
