Teresa Widener (45) has a hobby of 'sipping' gravel stones for more than 20 years. During that time, it was estimated that she had eaten more than 1,360kg of gravel, equal to the average weight of a humpback whale.
Teresa said that pebbles are the "most delicious " food when she is single. However, since the beginning of last year when she married (Mr. Jim), Teresa's bad habit had somewhat reduced.
'Jim makes me so happy that I have forgotten somewhat of that hobby, I started to eat less ice. When I get sad, I often look for pebbles, only they make me feel better , 'Widener shared.
Teresa often hides gravel stones in a special cupboard under the kitchen. She often sips stones when there are romantic walks with her husband. Currently Teresa has 2 children.
'I often choose the stones that I like. I love the taste of the rock, so I sometimes taste the mud , 'Teresa said.
Teresa Widener's favorite stones are usually soft and crispy rocks. She used a hammer to crush rock and then enjoy it. ' I feel better when I have stones. Stone is the greatest source of comfort when I'm sad. '
Teresa Widener's addiction to ice is known as a disease called Pica. People with this disease often have cravings for non-food objects.
In animals, eating gravel has a great effect on digestion, but for humans, eating gravel is unusual.
