1. Son Doong Cave belongs to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park (Quang Binh province)

Son Doong Cave was discovered by a local people for the first time in 1991, but it was not until the expedition of the Royal Cave Association explored in 2009 that this place was known to many people. Photo: Giant stalagmites in the cave can be as high as 40m.

2. Crystal crystal (Mexico) - the largest natural crystal cave in the world

Famous as a Mexican crystal cave, Cueva de los Cristales (Cave of Crystals) are the largest natural crystal cave in the world with 11m high transparent crystal beams. Located deep inside the mountain of Naica and below the ground 290m, this cave has a horseshoe-shaped shape, the main material is limestone, 10m wide, 30m long.

The seismic events that occurred about 26 million years ago created the mountain of Naica , covering it with a very thick layer of anhydrous plaster. When magma cools, the temperature drops, the gypsum begins to decompose, mixing into the source of sulfate and calcium salts. Over the years (millions of years), the mixture became sediment deposited in the caves and formed giant crystals like today.

3. Majlis al Jinn cave (Oman) - the second largest cave in the world

Majlis al Jinn is the second largest cave in the world, located in the mountains of Selma Plateau , 1600m above sea level, belonging to the kingdom of Oman. This cave was discovered in 1983 by Don Davidson, a geologist studying water resources in Oman. Davidson died mysteriously about 10 years later when he left Oman to conquer the Andes.

To enter this cave, one must use a rope to climb down through a hole in the ground. The inside height of the cave ranges from 120 to 150m, the cave floors can be as high as 300 and this cave is so large that it can fit into the Egyptian pyramid of Giza.

4. Waitomo Glowworm (New Zealand) - the heaven of fireflies

The Waitomo Glowworm cave of North Island, New Zealand is well known because it is home to millions of fireflies - the firefly has the scientific name Arachnocampa. The fireflies in this cave release the silk, if the nest is on the ceiling, then they hang themselves on those delicate threads and glow.
