Floating ball to save people in tsunami

A Japanese company built a circular storage chamber capable of floating on water to help people escape in tsunamis and other natural disasters.

The AP quoted Cosmo Power, the name of the company that made the balloon-shaped cavity, saying their new product was made of durable and durable fiberglass. It will become extremely useful in disasters such as the March 11 tsunami.

Mr. Shoji Tanaka, president of Cosmo Power, said the compartment can accommodate 4 adults. The company had it hit with a variety of hard objects and it didn't crack or break. The compartment has a small window and a breathing hole above. Under normal conditions people can turn it into children's toys.

Cosmo Power has produced storage compartments since September and received 600 orders. Two aircraft have been shipped.

More than 20,000 people died and went missing because of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan. Most of the victims died from being swept away by water.
