The director of Richard Weil's weight loss program at the hospital said he had conducted trials on 55 subjects, both male and female, who were obese. These people are stimulated by craving one of the four foods they love. All were asked to assess the intensity of appetite and the depth at which food images remained in their minds after taking attention to dispersing attention, including: patting the forehead, ears, toe and look straight at the wall (reference method).
The results showed that all four measures are effective in controlling appetite in participants. In particular, the pat on the forehead is most effective when it fades away the image of the dish and disables the appetite 10% higher than other exercises.
Dr. Weil said the results of the study reinforce the idea that we can reduce cravings, whether it's a favorite, with distractions and this can be used as a strategy in weight loss process.
