In the first 3 months, the pancreas of the fetus is not fully formed, insulin production is not yet produced, affecting the mother is prone to miscarriage, stillbirth, the latter may be born with a congenital condition. 3 months later, from mid-week 11-15 and especially the last 3 months, the pancreas began to form and function to produce insulin. Maternal blood and fetal blood through the placenta, the mother's blood sugar is equal to her blood sugar, her pancreas is reported to produce insulin to resolve blood sugar falls. From the 15th week, the baby must constantly produce insulin to resolve high blood sugar, the baby becomes a giant baby, there are many when not laying or at least weighing 4 - 5 kg or more. It is called a giant disease or a major diabetes in people with diabetes. These mothers need to monitor their pregnancy weight through monthly ultrasound and baby's weight later.

To prevent pregnancy, make the pregnant mother's blood sugar stay normal. Treatment in diabetic pregnant women as well as in other people but not allowed to use tablets that use insulin injections.
