The odd legs of Tieu Phuong.
When the terrible accident happened, Xiao Fang was only 7 years old. Her legs were severely injured.
The surgeons tried to avoid having to remove her legs. But because of the severe injury, Phuong's legs began to develop anomalies and became arched.
Xia Fang, now 22, lives in Harbin in Heilongjiang Province, northeastern China. Phuong had to live with these abnormally curved legs for 15 years. But eventually she underwent surgery to correct her legs on June 21 last.
After the surgery was successful, Phuong's legs were straightened and the knee bone protruding was removed. The ligaments in the legs were also extended by surgeons to help her to walk.
Xiaojun's legs are currently being bandaged. The doctors said she would be able to walk normally with her feet when the bone completely healed.
