Helicopters have the ability to learn by themselves
Just spend $ 4,000, the customer can own a plane equipped with artificial intelligence system. It can perform a multitude of complex movements without the need for human intervention.
On September 15, the first intelligent helicopter took off on Stanford University campus. With a body length of 1.2 m, the aircraft made jumps upwards, rotated, tilted wings, stopped abruptly and changed direction, dive, fly spiral.
The miniature helicopter is equipped with an artificial intelligence system developed by computer experts at Stanford. Thanks to this system, it can learn how to fly by tracking the performance of manned helicopters. The helicopter also has a global positioning device or two underground cameras to determine its position.

In the event of a need for a driver, the helicopter can communicate with an underground computer.
"It can do the moves that traditional helicopters can not do, fly to places where normal helicopters can not," said Dr. Adam Coates, a member of the project.
Adam said that many companies have ordered artificial intelligence aircraft for use in military surveillance and mapping. Scientists claim their tiny helicopters can detect forest fires and detect mines. Each unit costs about $ 4,000. Accompanying accessories include an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetic field measuring device to determine direction and track acceleration.
