Catrise Austin doctor used this technique to test about 100 patients to find HIV at his VIP Smiles hospital in New York from July this year, Fox news said.

The test is simple: saliva is taken from the upper and lower gums of the patient, put into a test called OraQuick Advance, at a cost of $ 15.

Within 20 minutes, the gauze changes color, indicates a negative or positive result, similar to a home pregnancy test.

Across the United States, a number of public health facilities, including New York City, are trying to transfer HIV testing work to dentists.

There are 1 out of 10 Americans visiting a dentist (not a doctor) every year, and about a quarter of people with HIV do not know their status.
