Students of Hanoi National University of Civil Engineering have successfully designed multi-purpose houses, semi-mobile, get ideas from Red River fish rafts, helping people in flooded areas.

Many times witnessed flooding into houses, swept away property and destroyed crops, and the annual " cataclysm " in the Central region caused great losses of people and property, Nguyen Ich Thang, student Architecture Department cherished the idea of ​​a multi-purpose house - selling mobile phones for a long time and the fish cages on the Red River have inspired him.

The house uses materials mainly made of natural bamboo, which is environmentally friendly, estimated to cost a few tens of million dong.

Thang said that the construction of the house does not require too high technical level, just have steel to tie the bamboo bars together, build the frame and walls, so it is easy to do, short construction time.

The house consists of two parts: The fixed part holds the main function of the house, this is the main living space. Part two is the mobile part, which is the place to live for people when natural disasters occur.

Above this section is equipped with two water tanks to collect and filter rainwater into clean water for daily life. Under two water tanks are arranged two trays for growing short-term vegetables. These two vegetable trays can move. Vegetable trays when sliding out become a shelter for pets, while sliding in will help prevent storms from rotting the vegetables grown below.

When storms and storms return, the mobile part will float up to the flood water, two water tanks will be drained and turned into buoys, keeping the house from being floated by the waves. A buoy will function as a shelter for animals, the remaining buoy will be a living and drying ground for humans.

The house can be built in many terrains, the house area depends on the number of people and animals.

Thang added that, in addition to being able to fight storms and floods, the house is also resistant to earthquakes."If the idea of ​​a flood-proofing house is realized, this is a precious gift to people in the Central region , " Thang said.
