HP and Intel launch the PC
On January 23, HP and Intel unveiled two new HP PCs designed to meet new standards, low energy consumption and considered the first computer to integrate solid-state hard drives (SDD). .
The new HP PC line is the product of the Climate Savers initiative initiated by HP and Intel. The ultra-thin HP Compaq dc7800 is equipped with SDD hard drive, Intel Core 2 Duo chip (Penryn line), Intel vPro remote management platform, HP's own Verdiem Survey management software. Compaq dc7800 has a starting price of 1.258USD.
High prices are one of the barriers that prevent SDD from being chosen by manufacturers. In addition to high prices, SDD drives often have very low capacity.
The second "green" desktop is the HP Compaq dc5800, which integrates security and management functions, redesigned in a smaller form and microtower architectural style. The configuration of this PC will be announced on February 11 with a starting price of about $ 579.
Analysts believe that both HP and Intel are wagering with these products. The views of these two companies are the demand for energy saving increasingly urgent for both users and manufacturers. However, it is unclear whether businesses are interested in this product or not.
