'Huge wall of fish' under the sea

An American family caught millions of sardines when they discovered coral reefs near the Philippine island of Pescador. The length of the fish up to 120 m.

' Suddenly everything around us became pitch black as if there was a falling cloud. Poliakoff estimates that there are about 10 million individuals in the fish. He did not understand why they swam into a vertical wall.

' It is possible that sardine fish form such a shape to deceive the sight of predators, so that no members will be captured, ' he said.

Alex Gerard, a fish expert at Brighton Marine Life Center, said: ' Every year, sardine fish migrate to areas where there is plenty of food to breed. Dolphins, sharks, whales and seabirds are always waiting for migrations of sardine fish to hunt. In the Philippines they usually migrate in July.
