Icelandic volcano eruption, European aviation alert

Bardarbunga volcano in Iceland erupted violently with lava flows fired into the air about 70m high, raising the danger warning level for aviation operations.

The Telegraph said the camera captured the image of the Bardarbunga volcano continuing to erupt violently yesterday. In addition to the red lava flow splashed into the sky, large white smoke clouds with steam and gas are also observed at the volcanic eruption.

Meteorological experts raised the highest level of warning with aviation activity on red alert, then lowered the orange alarm. This is a warning level indicating that the risk of eruption and danger can still occur.

Several small earthquakes have been recorded in the area since August 16, creating cracks in the Vatnajokull glacier, northeast of the volcano, allowing lava flows to flow through.

Experts are concerned that the lava that extends north can also continue to take place in the south and reach the area below the glacier. The magnitude 5 seismic activity can also cause an intense eruption under the glacier. If this happens, it will melt a large amount of ice, causing widespread flooding, creating large explosions and volcanic ash.

Within the past 72 hours, volcanic activity is increasing significantly. The lava layer is said to cover an area of ​​more than 4 km ² .

Bardarbunga is the second highest volcano in Iceland, with a height of over 2,000 meters above sea level.
