IE market share continued to decline
Although the upgraded version of Internet Explorer (IE) 7 is rated by the majority of users, the overall market share of IE in October 2006 still dropped.
Specifically, IE market share decreased from 82.1% (September 2006) to 81.3% (October 2006). Meanwhile, IE 7 users only increased slightly - 1%, and IE 6 market share decreased slightly compared to the previous months.
According to experts, the market share reflects the trend of using the browser of the current users. Thanks to the strategy of IE 7, Microsoft may lose more market share.
Also related to the browser issue, Mozilla has just upgraded Firefox from version 1.5 to 2.0, and its browser market share in October 2006 increased slightly from previous months - from 12.5% up. 13%.
