Developed by experts at the Vienna University of Technology, this 3D printer uses a liquid resin blend that can be shaped under the influence of a laser.
As a result, the printer can produce detailed cubes at the nanoscale, which are several hundred nanometers in length.
Austrian experts have found ways to improve print speeds by using this method, from a few millimeters per second to 5 meters per second.
"The bottom line is to improve the mobility of the mirrors ," said Jan Torgersen, the Vienna Technology University website. These mirrors are constantly moving during the printing process, so it is important to adjust the acceleration and deceleration times to achieve the desired speed.
Chemical properties play a key role in 3D nanotechnology, allowing the liquid mixture to quickly dry and form under the influence of laser light.
