Founded in 1922, the Munich factory is BMW's main production site, shipping more than 1,000 units a day and using large "armies" of robots for many stages.

Initially, it produced aircraft and motor vehicles; Car production began in 1952. Since then, more than 9.3 million vehicles have rolled off the assembly line.

Besides the production of chassis, the Munich factory also produces engines with an average of more than 2,000 engines produced each day. Engines include BMW 3, 4, 8 and 12-cylinder engines, 6-cylinder diesel engines as well as 8 high-performance cylinders for BMW M. models.
