New invention helps people see at night

Disarming night vision is done using chlorin e6 (Ce6). This substance is found in some deep-sea fish species, which have the characteristic of amplifying light and have been used to treat some cancers.

Biological chemistry researcher Gabriel Licina is a volunteer in the Science for the Masses experiment.Ce6 is inserted into Licina's eyeball, flowing into the conjunctival sac and transferred to the retina.

According to Discovery News, it is effective in about one person and lasts in an unclear state for hours. Therefore, Licina's ability to see at night or in low light becomes more accurate within 50 m. To evaluate efficiency, Licina and a research team examined eyesight in a dark environment.

" We performed three object tests, including long-distance symbol recognition, identifying symbols by color at constant distances and the ability to identify moving objects in the scene instead. change at different distances, " said Jeffrey Tibbetts, partner of Licina.

Essentially, Licina can detect and identify objects, symbols and people in the dark while others cannot. The team plans to continue testing more rigorous experiments, hoping to achieve a greater level of light amplification.
