Defects in iPhone design have made Apple's latest smartphone the prey for online fraud and XSS attacks (cross-site scripting).

Security firm Fortify Software said the first vulnerability to be mentioned is that the iPhone email client only displays the first few characters of the web link. This factor can be exploited by hackers to trick users into clicking on a fake link without a doubt.

Or, the mechanism that the iPhone uses to link web browsers and voice functions is also easy to take advantage of to embed a phishing phone directly into the website. Victims are users, they can make calls to those phone numbers completely.

Fortify affirmed that these defects have caused iPhone users to face the risk of becoming victims of even the simplest online scams such as clicking on fake links or making calls until when exceeded the mobile service provider's regulations make the bill escalate unexpectedly.

' If we do not pay due attention to these factors, it is possible that at some point hackers will try to fake iPhone applications in order to gain access to information-stealing devices. Personal account , 'Brian Chess - Fortify's leading researcher - said.

Since its official launch last month so far not only security researchers but also hackers have been diligently researching to find security holes in the iPhone. One of the earliest problems discovered is that the iPhone's web browser can be taken advantage of to steal passwords stored on the device. Or as some other hackers have tried to unlock iPhone functions.
