Is autism caused by genetic mutations?

Many researchers believe that autism is a genetic disorder caused by genes.

Cold Spring Harbor lab researchers have confirmed this hypothesis when they found that the smallest gene mutations increase the risk of autism than those thought so far.

According to the researchers, although these gene mutations are rare, they are 10 times more common in people with autism than others.

The study also demonstrated that these mutations are only twice as common in people with at least 2 family members with autism.

Nearly 10 out of every 10,000 people have autism. The team confirmed that the results could help create a diagnostic test.
