It seems that the height of Mount Everest has suddenly changed

Experts have recently suggested that the height of Mount Everest seems to have had some impact, making it no longer the same.

Mount Everest in the Himalayas is still considered the "roof" of the world, with a height of 8,848m above sea level.

Recently, however, experts are asking questions about this height. They think Mount Everest seems to be changing, or shrinking, or slightly higher. This question is being investigated by Nepalese people and the Indian government.

Specifically, experts said that the geological activities around this area could cause the height of the mountain to be affected. For example, in April 2015, the 7.8-magnitude quake was thought to be enough for the giant pieces of rock to move. Some areas sink into the soil, or rise up.

It was noted that some areas were displaced about 9m. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal has also been shifted about 3m.

Could the height of Mount Everest change?

However, according to calculations from satellites, this mountain seems unabated. So if there is a change, this change is also extremely small. It's just that science sometimes needs precision to put it into statistics.
