Just imagine exercise also makes you healthier

A new study finds that just by exercising, sports can create the same effect that we really train.

According to the study report published in the Journal of Neurophysiology, simply through imagining exercise and sports activities, we can strengthen muscles, delay small atrophy and even also makes the muscles stronger.

Experts from Ohio University (USA) have drawn this conclusion after conducting tests for 2 groups of healthy volunteers. The team tied a group of wrists into a car and asked them to sit still for 11 minutes, 5 days a week for 4 consecutive weeks, and imagine training muscles. The other group did not receive any requests.

The results show that the body and the brain are more intertwined than we ever thought. At the end of the 4-week trial, volunteers who performed "fantasy gymnastics" twice as healthy did not do it. In addition, they also have a stronger brain due to better training in the production of nerve-muscle reactions.

Scientists have long known the connections between the cerebral cortex and the ability to control and regulate the muscles of that brain region. Imaginative techniques of exercise and sports are even used by professional athletes to improve achievement.

However, the Ohio University study is the first scientific work to prove visualization can also delay or prevent muscle atrophy.

"What our study draws is, exercise in thought can also be a valuable tool to help prevent and slow down the process of muscle weakness, when problems arise. Health can limit the movement of a person, " said Professor of Physiology and Neurology Brian Clark.

Mr. Clark described muscles as nervous system puppets and under the control of the brain.

The team claims that, with new discoveries, visualization can be used to help people undergo neurological recovery as well as assist in controlling the effects of aging.
