Accordingly, the Radiation Center was built near Loc Son Industrial Park, Bao Loc City, on an estimated area of about 12 hectares, with a total initial investment of VND100 billion.

The mission of the Center is to apply irradiation processing process to post-harvest technology to verify food safety and hygiene, identify harmful diseases in crops, and preserve agricultural products. . From 2015, this center will be installed an electronic accelerator to be able to research new materials technology.
In addition to the Irradiation Center, Lam Dong People's Committee also had a chapter to set up a laboratory for applying radiation and nuclear techniques to analyze soil, agro-chemical and pesticide residues on foods. , to promote the development of clean agriculture in Lam Dong province.
Assoc. Dr. Le Xuan Tham said, he cooperated with Da Lat Nuclear Research Institute to train human resources for the Center and set up a delegation to visit models of activities of irradiation centers in some countries around the world. .
Currently, the whole country has 5 irradiation points, the Da Lat Nuclear Research Institute, two locations in Ho Chi Minh City, one in Hanoi and one in Binh Duong.
