This type of germicidal lamp is actually a combination of LED and titanium oxide nano. Dr. Khai, the author of the study, said that in LED cathode (light emitting diodes) he added titanium oxide nanoparticles, which provide oxygen. According to research results, with 3W lamps, 10 million oxygen / cm 3 molecules can be supplied in one second. This amount of oxygen can break down organic circuits of bacteria, viruses and destroy them.

Explaining more about bactericidal mechanism from this type of light, Professor, Dr. Tran Van Sung, Chairman of Science Council, Institute of Chemistry (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) said that oxygen itself is not available. ability to kill bacteria and viruses. With a 1.5W LED light bulb, lit for 600 hours (equivalent to 25 days) consumes one kWh of electricity. 'Calculated to light the bulb for the whole month, almost equal to the value of a vinataba cigarette. Their lifespan can also reach 50-100 thousand hours, 'said Dr. Khai.
'Benevolent' with business
Dr. Nguyen Van Khai said that in addition to bactericidal effects, LED lights can also be colored by fluorescent light emitting substances. Therefore, it can be used for decoration, odor and bactericidal purposes.
This product has been tested by Dr. Khai in many localities such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan . Besides, disinfection LED lights are also lit at some poultry farms in Vinh Phuc to Saving electricity and killing bacteria.
In June 2007, Mr. Hoang Minh Duc, General Director of Thanh Long Electronic Production Joint Stock Company (Hap Linh Industrial Complex, Bac Ninh) came to cooperate and produce the above lamps. After nearly two years of implementation, the production line of lamps was completed and put into operation. Mr. Hoang Minh Duc said this technology line has a capacity of 300 lights a day. 'Our goal is to deliver the first product in the early days of this year's rainy season,' said Duc.
