Mutant pig lion in HCMC

Pair of parent lions with brown fur at the zoo Cu Chi Water Park, Ho Chi Minh City has just released a batch of 5 children of 2 animals with white fur, a very rare phenomenon.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Truc, Director of the Cu Chi Water Park Zoo, said that the pair of white lion-born parents were imported by Indochina Zoo Service Joint Stock Company from South Africa in November 2011 along with 10 other children.

'They are all about 12-14 months old, at the beginning of the year they live together, but in 2012 they found that they can mature to reproduce, so we decided to separate two tracking pairs for breeding. I didn't expect a couple of them to have two children with white fur ', Mr. Truc said.

Explaining this phenomenon, Mr. Bui Hong Thuy, director of Indochina Company, said the White Lion is white but not because of albino but a very special genetic transformation.
