The author of the carvings is probably a representative of nomadic tribes, living mainly on hunter-gatherers. Excluding the possibility that their carvings are beginner and part of the ritual to receive new members into the hunter team. Experts say that specific analysis of the carvings will provide accurate information about the tribes and the type of tools they use.

Archaeologist Gerardo Rivas, one of the study participants, said that the discovery of the stone carvings is the next evidence that the Narigua region in the Stone Age was home to many tribes. Mr. Rivas also mentioned other items found in this area such as dishes, stoves and arrowheads used for hunting.

According to some experts, the latest finding can be considered a continuation of the previous discovery in the state of Tamaulipas with 5,000 drawings in caves.

Stone carvings are an important component of communication during the period of no writing. The carvings are often confused with the symbols pictogram, only painted (without engraving) on ​​the stone.
