President Obama once directed NASA to bring astronauts to a meteorite near the globe in 2025 and to Mars after 2030. To explore such distant celestial bodies, NASA is building rockets. But last year, some sources in NASA revealed that the agency wanted to build a base above the dark half of the moon. Astronauts on the base can assist in the exploration of the moon. The base could also serve as a stepping stone for NASA to make flights to reach further destinations, such as Mars.
