Facetime Security Labs has detected a computer worm that can not only attack Skype but also ICQ, MSN Messenger, AIM, Trillian and Yahoo Messenger.
The one who has discovered the computer worm is Chris Boyd, director of malicious research at Facetime Security Labs.
Accidentally, once studying a collection of computer worm code that attacked Skype, Boyd discovered a deep code that could attack multiple instant messaging services.
Computer worms that attack multiple instant messaging services (IM) are no longer a new phenomenon. Users are advised not to click on suspicious links that are included in messages unless it is confirmed to be a secure link.
Most of the instant messaging attacks are targeted at kidnapping users' installed systems, and malicious code is able to steal personal information.
