Most of us won't think about it when we eat a salad, all the vegetables and fruits are harmful. However, after learning that fruits and vegetables react to sounds when they are eaten , we should reconsider our diet.

Researchers from the University of Missouri, USA have shown that plants can identify sounds around them, like sounds when they are eaten. Since then, it will form an anaphylactic mechanism in its environment.

Trees have the ability to distinguish vibrations when attacked by prey.

"Previous studies have investigated how plants respond to sound, including music," said Heidi Appel, research scientist at the University of Missouri.

In his research with his colleague Rex Cocroft, they released moths on the mustard leaves. Then, with a laser and a small-sized reflector placed on the leaf, Cocroft can track leaf movement when ingested.

Research shows that when plants "hear " the sound they eat, it releases a lot more mustard oil - a chemical compound that makes caterpillars uncomfortable.

This also indicates that trees have the ability to distinguish vibrations from prey attacks , compared to other vibrations in the environment.

"Plants have many ways to detect insect attacks. However, the sound of digestion is the fastest way for other parts of the tree to receive attack information and prepare defense." said.

"The caterpillar will react to that chemical by crawling away. Therefore, using sound waves to enhance the defenses of green plants can be a good solution for agriculture."
