Poisonous brown snake swallowed the same kind

A farmer in northwestern Victoria recorded the moment when the brown snake had swallowed the black snake in the pasture.

"He just swallowed half of his prey, but I don't know how long the other half is. I've never seen anything similar before," Northey said. Northey tried to keep the dogs away from the snake, but he only stared at his meal.

According to Nick Clemann, senior scientist at the Environment, Soil, Water and Planning Agency, snakes operate after early hibernation due to warmer weather.

Clemann said snakes are more common on urban edges or rural areas of Victoria, but they are also found near cities and towns, especially around rivers and parks. Lowland snakes and cobras are the most common snakes near the coastal area, while oriental brown snakes appear more in dry areas. These snakes rarely bite people but they all have dangerous venom.
