Last afternoon, a modified Russian intercontinental ballistic missile will leave the southern launch pad, bringing Thailand's earth observation satellite into orbit.
The RS-20 rocket carries a satellite named Theos launched from the launch pad in Ural.
The plan to launch the satellite should have been made on August 6, but was postponed to wait for permission from neighboring Russia, because while launching debris from rockets would fall into the territory.
Thai Theos satellite was designed and built by EADS Astrium of France under an agreement with the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand in 2004. It is the third satellite that Thailand hired Russia to launch into orbit.
