The meteorite fragment was discovered to be 1.5m long, lying at the bottom of the lake at a depth of 20m. After being pulled up on the shore with a cable, the meteorite piece broke into three parts. The meteorite piece was determined to weigh 570kg before being broken.

According to Sergei Zamozdra, associate professor at Chelyabinsk National University, the salvaged meteorite is definitely part of the meteorite. This is also considered to be the largest meteorite piece to be found so far, since the meteorite explosion occurred in the second quarter near the city of Chelyabinks, Russia, injuring over 1,600 people.

On February 15, a meteorite with a diameter of nearly 15 meters, a volume of about 7,000 to 10,000 tons, rushed into the atmosphere at a speed of 64,000km / hour and exploded at a height of 19-24km above the ground, causing meteorite rain in the sky provinces of Chelyabin, Tyumen, Kyrgan and Sverdlovsk, as well as many localities along the Urals.
