Shudder to see the world's most humanoid robot imitate the behavior of a scientist

Ameca is a humanoid robot developed by Engineered Art, a company based in Cornwall, England, with a lifelike face, equipped with sophisticated sensors and able to imitate all human behaviors including smiling, talking, winking, pursing lips, picking nose.

According to the tech company, it was created with the main goal of being able to interact with humans in the way we have seen in sci-fi movies - as a member of life. Ameca is hailed as the world's most advanced humanoid robot.

In the clip just released by the company, Ameca stands next to a scientist and appears to be filming a funny clip with him. It mimics every expression on his face perfectly, creepy, just like a real friend.

The scientist standing next to Ameca is using an iPhone 12 running a program called ARKit , which allows users to record a person's movements in real time using the phone's camera.

The changes on the scientist's face were recorded and modeled, forming special commands that controlled Ameca like a puppet: Whatever he did, Ameca would do exactly the same in a fraction of a second.

'The goal here is to build the best possible expression. Ameca can mimic the subtleties of human expression,' says Engineered Art.

Ameca remains silent throughout the clip, although a few small clips have previously shown it speaking.
