Some chemicals in sister's cosmetic products can cause breast cancer

According to a recent study by American scientists, chemicals in beauty products can harm women's fertility, even causing breast cancer.

The team from George Mason University, Virginia, USA, discovered the relationship between chemicals widely used in the cosmetics industry and personal care with changes in reproductive hormones .

If exposed to BPA, the body also precedes puberty and is more prone to breast cancer.

According to Independent, the research team analyzed urine samples of 143 women aged 18-44. They are people who do not suffer from chronic diseases or use birth control methods.

Surprisingly, the team found that there was a lot of chemicals like paraben (preservatives commonly used in cosmetics), benzophenones (used for ultraviolet filters) and bisphenol A in urine. They cause related abnormal effects of women's estrogen and progesterone hormones.

Too much estrogen in the body can easily lead to uterine fibroids and irregular menstrual cycles. While too little estrogen will prevent eggs from ripening and falling from the ovaries.

If there is too much progesterone in the body, it can easily lead to breast cancer risk and abnormal vaginal bleeding. Especially bisphenol A (BPA) will cause gender reversal effects, for example, male breasts now develop as women. In addition, exposure to BPA also causes early puberty, reduced sperm count, susceptibility to breast cancer, and behavioral changes.

The above findings will greatly change women's perspective on cosmetics.

Dr. Anna Pollack, assistant professor of Global Health and Community at George Mason University, said:

"This is the first study to examine the chemicals that are widely used in personal care products and their relationships with hormones in healthy women or their fertility . What they are We can draw from this study that every person needs to be careful about the chemicals used in beauty and personal care ".

According to Pollack, chemicals such as paraben can increase the level of estrogen hormones in women.

If the findings of American scientists are proven, it will greatly change women's perspective on cosmetics and their relationship to their health status. Of course, this is just an initial study and it will take more time to verify, but being cautious before using cosmetics is not redundant.

The research has been published in the recent Environment International scientific journal.
