According to the calculations of experts, there is still a long time when Vietnam will have a strong earthquake similar to the two earthquakes.

At present, the Institute of Geophysics has set up a map of the area of Vietnam earthquake zoning (ratio 1: 2,000,000 in 1985 and 1: 1,000,000 in 1995. This institute is also conducting research on the earthquake zone. in Southeast Asia and adjacent areas, assessing the danger of earthquakes and tsunamis in coastal and island areas in Vietnam and proposing solutions to prevent and mitigate consequences.

The agency also pays special attention to the study of the structure of the Red River fault zone, Lai Chau-Dien Bien fault, Son La fault, Ca river fault and Saigon river.

So far, the Institute has also built a network of local national repetition sites consisting of 56 points nationwide, building school maps from normal and changing the century about every 5 years.
