The most likely scenario is that the storm will approach the central coast of Vietnam and then change direction to the sea. The central central region may experience widespread heavy rain from tomorrow (October 26).
At 4:00 a.m. this morning (October 25), the storm center was in the eastern sea of the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the storm center was level 9-10 (75-102 km/h), gusting to level 12. In the past hours, the storm has been moving slowly westward, traveling about 10 km per hour.
The path of storm Tra Mi may go through two phases. In the first phase , on October 25-26, the storm moved quite steadily in a west-northwest and west direction, towards the Hoang Sa archipelago and continued to strengthen.
At 4:00 a.m. on October 27 , the storm center was in the northern area of Hoang Sa archipelago with the strongest wind near the storm center at level 11-12, gusting to level 14. This was also the time when the storm was at its strongest.
It is forecasted that when approaching the Paracel Islands, due to the influence of cold air and interaction with the storm off the coast of the Philippines, the storm will be extremely complex and unpredictable.

The most likely scenario at present is that when approaching the sea area of the Central Central region (Quang Binh to Quang Ngai), the storm will continuously change direction from west to southwest, to southeast, then change direction from east, turn back to sea and gradually weaken. However, the probability of the storm making landfall in the Central provinces is still possible.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that around October 26-28 , the Central Central region is likely to experience a widespread heavy rain. The intensity and extent of the rain will depend on the development of storm Tra Mi.
Due to the influence of the storm and cold air, the weather in the sea areas today is very bad. This morning, the eastern sea area of the North East Sea has strong winds of level 9, gusting to level 11. At Ly Son island station (Quang Ngai), there are strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 7.
Forecast for the day and night of October 25 , the eastern sea of the North and Central East Sea will have storms, the western sea of the North East Sea, the South East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago), will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 7-8.
The meteorological agency warned that during the day and night of October 26, the North East Sea area (including the waters of Hoang Sa archipelago) will have strong winds of level 9-10, near the storm's eye level 11-12, gusting to level 15, waves 6-8m high, near the storm's eye 8-10m, and rough seas.
The sea area north of the Central East Sea has strong winds of level 7-8, gusts of level 9-10, very rough seas, waves 5-7m high.
The Gulf of Tonkin, the southern sea area of the Central East Sea, the southern East Sea area (including the sea area of Truong Sa island district) has strong winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3-6m high.
The sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai (including the sea area of Ly Son island district) has strong winds of level 6-7, then increasing to level 8-9, gusting to level 11, very rough seas, waves 5-7m high.
On land, the weather across the country today is sunny, with little rain. The North is cold at night and in the morning with the lowest temperature of 18-21 degrees Celsius, and in mountainous areas 15-17 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature is 29-32 degrees Celsius.
