This fish lives in the Mekong region in the territory of Vietnam. A special feature of this species is that the male has a genitals located below the head and holds out a 'saw blade' to easily mate with the female.

Phallostethus cuulong was discovered in July 2009 by a scientist from Nagao Natural Environment Fund. Male fish have a body length of about 2cm, mate with females by placing their heads close together, forming a 45 degree angle. No observations have been made about the mating activity of this species, but scientists predict this activity is based on observing the body structure of this species, compared with similar species. use these saw and whip parts to attract females into the genital season.

Vietnamese hobbyists consider arowanas as " king fish ". They are often imported with " terrible " prices, can be up to thousands of dollars. Arowana has the scientific name Scleropages formosus, a very rare species. Indigenous people along the Dong Nai River, Cat Tien National Park area called this species a sardine. The reason is called the arowana because on the fish body there are scales like dragon scales.

This is a large size fish, the body length can be up to 90cm and weight more than 7kg when mature. Arowanas are very rare in Vietnam, there was a time when it was considered extinct. Arowanas are used not only for ornamental fish, but also for fishes to treat diseases, to see or simply for hobby.

According to professional players, arowanas are classified into four basic types: Ngan Long (white), Kim Long (yellow), Thanh Long (blue) and Blood Long (red). Ngan Long is the cheapest, costing VND 300,000-500,000 a child. Due to their gentle nature, they are often released with other arowanas.

This bizarre ' hybrid ' fish is caught by a villager in Vinh Long on the Hau River. Nobody knows the name of this species. It has scales like solid scales, head like a deep fish but its body is as slippery as snakehead fish. Its mass is about 2 kg.

Since the origin and name of the fish cannot be identified, the people brought to the pub for sale. There, a diner said, this is a duckbill and very aggressive.

A fish with similar shape and weight was discovered in Thuy Nguyen district (Hai Phong) on ​​November 20, 2012. After the scientists observed, they confirmed that the fish could be a spotted gar.

On the morning of November 2, 2012, a resident of My Hoa commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh and two neighbors while pumping spring water to irrigate the sugarcane caught a strange fish. This fish has a tongue like a pig's tongue and is very aggressive. At first, the people in the commune all confirmed that they had never seen any fish that had just caught the type, after observing carefully, the people here suspected of being a Comb fish.

A resident in Quy Hop (Nghe An) discovered this fish in a ditch to bring water to the field. It has a length of about 1.5 m, body and color are quite similar to the copper loch. The back of the fish is light brown, the belly of the abdomen is silvery white, the body is round and two fins near the head look like ears. Its body is smooth, no scales, near the head has two holes on both sides but soft because it is made of cartilage, not hard bone like other fish. The mouth is the same as the eel's mouth but there are two beards of about 5 cm in length.

The weight of the fish caught was nearly 7 kg, the body diameter was about 16 cm. The strange thing is that in the mouth of the fish there is a big tongue like a finger and about 4 cm long.
