The Indonesian Meteorological Agency said the earthquake measured 6.6 on the Richter scale, but the US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake hit 7.4 on the Richter scale and the epicenter was 88 kilometers underground.

"Based on the impact, we think it is likely that it will produce a tsunami" , Indonesian officials said, named Jabar.
