Overcoming 132 topics, the peanut fertilizing machine of the group of Mechanical Engineering students at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry is one of two inventions awarded by the Jury at the Scientific Conference - Youth Technology the third university and college in the country.
Peanut is a short-term plant that provides high economic value and application in many processing industries. However, peanut yield in Vietnam is not significant compared to the existing land potential. At present, only the land for peanut cultivation is mechanized. The rest of the people have to spend much time and effort.
Recently, in the market, there was a fertilizer application machine for peanuts but due to the high price, farmers could not afford to equip. Therefore, a group of students in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry implemented the project "Research, design and manufacture of incision tools for fertilizer application for peanut on light soil".
According to the head of Vo Huu Hieu group: "Most of the parts are used or homemade items such as bicycle wheels, sprockets because of limited support." The machine weighs 14.5 kg, including slitting, fertilizer and soil fill. There are also supporting legs and strap to keep the balance in the process of moving. Just one driver pushes this machine forward so that the blade is 8-10 cm away from the line, the wheels spin and pull the moving roller. Fertilizer will follow the ducts evenly spread in the grooves, the last landfill will pull back the old soil.
In particular, the incision and filler can change the depth, users can adjust as desired. This new tool came out after only four months of research and manufacturing. Three times brought to practice

m in the field of peanuts in Huong Vinh commune, Huong Tra district, many farmers have ordered to buy machines.
With a container of 12.5 kg of fertilizer, the incision tool fertilizes peanuts on light soil with a yield of 0.04 ha / hour. Comparing economic value, if mechanizing fertilizer operation, farmers will save about 110,000 VND / ha. The value of a fertilizer fertilizer machine for peanut is only VND500,000, available in the market, easy to use, size suitable for the field of the central field.
Engineer Do Minh Cuong, the instructor who led the research group, said: "We are planning to make models for students to become familiar with manufacturing but find them so committed, so I also give a hand. If you want to mass produce this fertilizer fertilizer machine, you have to do the verification and compare it in reality. However, the difficulty is now funding and time. "
The peanut-fertilizing tool is still in the School of Engineering - Technology. Vo Huu Hieu said: "If we produce machines by the chain, we will replace some details from iron to plastic such as fertilizer containers, rollers, at which time the cost will be lower".
