Successfully refining high quality wood pulp of Vietnam

Vietnamese scientists successfully refined quality Vietnamese wood pulp almost Canadian wood pulp with a lower price, being able to replace Canadian wood pulp as a raw material for making Nitroxululose.

This is the outstanding result of the research 'Study on using Vietnamese wood cellulose source to produce Nitroxululose for production of propellant to replace imported wood pulp' by Dr. Phan Duc Nhan and the young research team of the Department Explosive medicines, Department of Weapons, Military Technical Academy.

According to Dr. Phan Duc Nhan, the study of refining cellulose of wood to meet the technical requirements used to make Nitroxul cellulose for the production of propellant in the laboratory scale has been interested in the research since early 2010.

The results of the study confirmed that by using domestic resources, it is possible to refine Vietnamese wood cellulose into products that meet the technical requirements for wood pulp used to produce Nitroxululose to replace imported wood pulp. From the above results, the group proposed and was assigned by the Ministry of Science and Technology to implement the above topic.

Dr. Phan Duc Nhan said that NC was prepared by nitrifying refined cellulose materials (cotton, wood .) and used quite popularly in civilian and military sectors such as making propellants and binders. adhesive, film forming agent .

Cellulose materials used to prepare nitrocellulose for the production of high quality propellants such as over 92% of α-cellulose for wood pulp and over 96% for cotton, other quality criteria are very strict.

Currently, in order to produce Nitroxululose, Vietnam is using the imported and imported imported cellulose materials such as Canadian and American wood pulp, Chinese cotton .

'Refined wood pulp of Vietnam after being sent for quality analysis and spectroscopy according to standard methods on the KCS Room, Z195 Plant and Center for Arms Engineering, Military Technical Academy has met Fully technical requirements for wood pulp put into nitriding to prepare Nitroxulene, which is of the same quality as Canadian wood pulp and has a lower price , " Dr. Phan Duc Nhan is pleased to share.

Mr. Nhan added that at present, the group has requested authorities at all levels to open a higher-level project to study and perfect the technological regimes of refining pulp of paper factories, using refined wood pulp. to make Nitro cellulose, a factory scale test for application and transfer of research results into practical Nitroxul cellulose and propellant manufacturing practices, step by step to completely replace Canadian imported wood pulp. foreign.
