This is also the first discovery of a super volcano in southeastern China, according to Xinhua.

The Civil Engineering and Development Department said that the super volcano is located in southeastern Hong Kong, the ancient super volcano lies 30 degrees and has an original diameter of about 18 km.

Experts say it is similar to the collapse of a volcanic basin, which forms the Taal crater in the Philippines, as well as the volcanoes of Tambora and Krakatoa in Indonesia, but with many times larger.

To be listed as a super volcano, it must be able to spray more than 1,000 km 3 of ash for each wake up, according to Denise Tang of the Hong Kong Department of Civil Development and Civil Works.

There are about 50 super volcanoes recorded on Earth.

In the case of Hong Kong, the last activity of this super volcano took place 140 million years ago.
