Livescience said scientists from the Royal Kew Biological Garden in the UK and hundreds of scientists around the world use a variety of methods to assess the status of thousands of plant species.

Results showed that 22% of 380,000 plant species are facing extinction. The study confirms that the risk of extinction of plants is higher than that of birds, and the level of vulnerability is comparable to that of mammals. Conifer trees are the most endangered group of plants, and the most threatened habitat is tropical forests.

' This study confirms what we are skeptical about, the existence of endangered plant species that is primarily caused by loss of habitat due to human impact ,' said Stephen Hopper, director of the garden. royal biologist Kew, said.

Scientists determine that the habitat of disappearing plants is converted by humans to agricultural and livestock purposes.

Hopper argues that biologists need to have accurate data so they can find out the reason and rate the disappearance of plants. Thus, the school can provide solutions to save them.
