The US has recently tested human green tea extract with epigallocatechin gallate extract. Test results showed that this substance has the ability to prevent cancer very high .

America has just had a clinical trial (human test) on the anti-cancer ability of green tea extracts: epigallocatechin gallate. This test is funded by the US National Cancer Institute and by Dr. H.-H. Sherry Chow, of the University of Arizona, Tucson (USA) is in charge of the research team.

Dr. Chow and colleagues conducted clinical trials for 42 healthy and non-smoking adults.

During the four weeks before the test, the volunteers did not drink green tea nor were they given medicine or food that contained epigallocatechin gallate, an antioxidant that has anti-cancer effects.

And for the next 4 weeks, volunteers each day take 4 tablets of epigallocatechin gallate 200mg in the morning before eating - a dose of epigallocatechin gallate with 8 to 16 cups of green tea is taken into the body.

Experts found that blood levels of GST enzyme increased by 80% in people with low GST levels at the time the study was started. Meanwhile, this concentration has not increased or only increased very little in people who have already had medium or high levels of GST in the body.

The capsules containing green tea extracts in this study were specially formulated for use in clinical trials. According to the test results, daily intake of 800mg of epigallocatechin gallate extracted from green tea helps the blood GST enzyme concentration increase by 80%. This is an enzyme that can prevent cancer.

This enzyme has the ability to boost the body's production of GST enzymes that have the effect of detoxifying and fighting cancer. GST enzyme has the ability to transform cancer-causing molecules into inert molecules that do not affect the genetic material Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA).

However, Chow notes that green tea extract products on the market may not meet the strict standards of purity and concentration shown in this study.
