Thanks to high technology, Saudi Arabia discovered a 125km long gold mine when randomly drilling into the ground
Randomly drilling into the ground, discovering a 125km long gold mine containing 200 tons of gold thanks to high technology: The discovery is predicted to impact gold prices worldwide
In December 2023, Saudi Arabia announced that it had discovered a huge new gold mine along a 100km stretch south of the Mansourah Massarah gold mine. This gold mine is located in Al Khurmah province in the Makkah region.
Maaden Mining Company said it has discovered many gold mines, showing great potential to expand gold mining in the area. The Middle Eastern country's mining giant announced this was the first discovery in the company's expanded exploration program launched from 2022.
This gold mine contains more than 200 tons of gold and is worth up to trillions of dollars.
Samples collected indicate the presence of high-grade gold deposits at two random drilling sites 400m from the Mansourah Massarah mine. The gold content per ton of soil is 10.4g and 20.6g gold, respectively, showing that these locations contain high-grade gold.
Maaden has continued to expand its exploration footprint in Jabal al-Ghadara and Bir al-Tawila, 25km north of Mansourah Massarah. Combined, in the area there could be a 'golden strip' extending up to 125 km.
Preliminary estimates show that these gold mines contain more than 200 tons of gold and are worth up to trillions of dollars. According to Sina, this discovery is even expected to greatly impact world gold prices.
'These discoveries have the potential to be at the heart of the world's next gold rush and are a key part of our growth strategy. And this is the first of many discoveries we expect to make in the coming years,' said Robert Wilt, CEO of Maaden.
With the development of the Mansourah Massarah gold mine in the near future, more gold is expected to hit the market. This could significantly impact world gold prices.
The unexpected and unexpected discovery also proves the untapped potential of Saudi Arabia's mineral resources and the surrounding area. Based on these results, the oil-rich nation also plans to increase drilling efforts around Mansourah Massarah to continue searching for resources.
Mansourah Massarah is Saudi Arabia's largest and most technologically advanced gold mine. It is currently being developed as a conventional open pit mine. The plant uses carbon leaching and pressure oxidation as well as autoclave technology to mine gold. The mine is equipped with high and environmentally sustainable technologies to exploit and process resources.
As of the end of 2023, Mansourah Massarah has nearly 7 million ounces of gold resources and an annual production capacity of 250,000 ounces.
In terms of current resource reserves, Mansoura Masala gold mine produces 4.5% of world gold output. The discovery of huge 'underground treasures' makes already rich Saudi Arabia become even richer.
