The mystery of 'transcontinental highway' is 40,000km long since ancient times
The ancient Inca road system is one of the most advanced engineering works in the world. This extremely sophisticated 'highway' system has turned the Inca empire into one of the most powerful ancient civilizations in the western hemisphere.
Sophisticated, sophisticated road network stretches over 32,000km, passing through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile. But perhaps one of the 'most notorious' points of this ancient road system is that it crosses the Andes, the tall, steep, steep mountains. This means that the ancient Incas had to dig a tunnel through the mountain, even cutting narrow roads along steep cliffs.

And even more amazingly, even without the need for wheels, animals, metal tools or even a kind of writing language to exchange information, the ancient Incas could still build one. The oldest, longest (40,000km) road and the most advanced on the surface of the globe, helps this ancient empire conveniently cross over 3 million square kilometers of their territory.

The Inca route was officially recognized as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 2014.
As UNESCO once remarked: 'Built by the Incas for centuries, and partly based on the infrastructure in the pre-Inca culture, the extraordinary road system passes through one of the dangerous terrain areas. Best on the planet, connect the snow-capped peaks of the Andes - at a height of over 6000m - to the coast, crossing through hot tropical rain forests, fertile valleys and arid deserts. This road system was expanded to the maximum in the 15th century, when it expanded to the length and width of the Andes' mountains.

This complex route has become the key trade channel for the Incas. They trade pumpkins, sweet potatoes, other fruits like pineapples and papayas, feathers, animal skins, pots, ropes, llamas, cloths and gold.

Ramiro Matos is a native Quechua with childhood associated with the Inca path. He said: 'This is not just a stone path, it is also a path of cosmology, and modern people regard it as a way of life. Kallawaya (travel doctors from Bolivia) still use this route to walk and restore their energy. They say the road has a soul '.

The more you learn about Inca, the more surprised and interesting you will feel. The ancient Inca road system is extremely massive and majestic, stretching from northwest to southeast. Strangely, along this route, we will find almost every major megalithic project, including Tiahuanaco, Puma Punku, Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo and Saksaywaman.

The megalithic buildings such as Tiahuanaco, Puma Punku, Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, and Saksaywaman are a treasure trove of convincing evidence showing the advanced and sophisticated technical level of ancient civilizations. An even more interesting thing that has been suggested by many experts is that the megalithic works are thousands of years older than (possibly) Inca civilization, so it is likely that part of the road system Inca sets are also thousands of years older than the Inca civilization.
Oddly enough, the Inca local legends say that these key sites are not built by the ancient Incas. When you ask the Incas who built these magnificent buildings? They will say: 'We don't build them'. So if not an Inca, who is the author behind?
Is it a pre-Inca prehistoric civilization, once inhabited by the Inca people later? Or is it the origin of the legendary civilization Atlantis? That is still a question without explanation.
