The Netherlands launches an electric 'super submersible' that runs faster than dolphins

The Dutch submarine maker U-Boat Worx has just launched the Super Sub electric motor submersible with a bullet-shaped design and can operate continuously for 8 hours.

According to the introduction of U-Boat Worx, with a maximum speed of 16km/h, the Super Sub runs nearly three times faster than current luxury submersibles, even faster than the average swimming speed of a ship. bottlenose dolphin.

The company's marketing director, Roy Heijdra, said the basic model of the Super Sub has a starting price of $ 5.8 million.

Heijdra said the submersible model is aimed at both private customers and commercial ventures . 'It wouldn't be surprising for a luxury resort to operate a Super Sub in the near future , ' he said.

With a length of 5.3 meters and a height of 2.2 meters, this ship weighs nearly 9 tons, is arranged comfortably for two passengers and one operator.

Meanwhile, the 'opponent' of it is Deepflight Dragon only 5 meters long, 1 meter high and maximum speed is 7.5 km / h.

The Super Sub uses an ultra-lightweight lithium-ion battery and a 62-kilowatt propulsion system capable of operating underwater for up to 8 hours on a single charge. The ship has enough oxygen to sustain life for 96 hours.

The ship can dive 300 meters deep, the whole body is made of transparent acrylic, promising to bring the most enjoyable experience to the user.
